Dr. Ronnell “Ron” Bernard

Ron graduated from Louisiana State University Medical School in 1975 and began his residency in anesthesia at Louisiana State University Charity Hospital where he practiced from 1976 through 1997. From 1987 through 1998 Ron worked as an anesthesiologist at East Jefferson General Hospital in New Orleans. Attracted by the beauty of the mountains and the plethora of outdoor activities, Ron and his wife, Nancy moved to Waynesville where he worked at Haywood Regional Medical Center for four years before he began his employment at Angel Medical Center in 2005.

Ron and Nancy raised three children and now enjoy spending every possible moment with their four grandchildren. His hobbies reflect his love of the outdoors and include gardening, hiking, fly fishing, tennis, music, and astronomy.
